the 4th in tee mangos tribute project, inspired by the much referenced theo parrish quote: love of the music should be the driving force of any producer, performer or dj. everything else stems from that core, that love. with that love, sampling can become a tribute an expansion on ideas long forgotten, reconstruction, collage. time is up is the first track here. arpeggios shimmer and crisp simple drums hiss and fizz along, until introduction of the classic detroitian vocal and one shot filtered rhodes sample. a deftly simple combination of classic ingredients. think 90s inner city meets a dj sprinkles era motor city drum ensemble.

after a killer 2015 for heist that brought with it 12inches from (a.o.) brame & hamo, fouk and new recruit m.ono, and a great frits wentink release to kick off 2016, were happy to bring you this bright and vibrant package courtesy of..ourselves. 2015 has been such an amazing and busy year for us, with loads of work on a new version of our live show with a new dam swindle member on the keys well as countless other shows and records on heist and freerange). pressing on 180 gram vinyl.
philpot-records owner michel baumann starts 2016 with a new label and a new roster of artists! we chose new talent from all genres to create a certain label-aesthetic without musical boundaries, united by a tight groove and loads of personality! ultramagnetique opens up with a compilation-series to introduce these artists, with artist 12 inches following later in the year. the aptly named electric ave. part i comes up with three treats from ike, spo and the label-owner himself, under his soulphiction moniker. make it burn is burnin on the decks of some fine djs for some time now and received a lot of love worldwide, so we are proud to finally put it on wax! soul-drenched housemusic to make you feel good and shake that thing! spo hits the streets in his jazzy interlude street lady, growing in tension and releasing on a disco-tip, opening up for ikes blinding percussion-slammer love envy up for a great start i guess! thanks for purchasing a real copy!
following the recent acclaimed release of his “space” lp, on which bruno “patchworks” hovart transformed himself into patchworks galactic project for a fantastic musical trip, favorite recordings proudly presents this new 2 tracks remix ep. on the a side, rising uk producer ny*ak provides a blowing version of “surrounded by the gobblins”. what do the letters stand for? why the asterisk?” you ask. the origin of the asterisk has something to do with donating dates of birth on family trees, from back in the medieval times. in music, an asterisk denotes when a sustain pedal should be lifted. ny – new york? ak – alaska? is it something to do with the three stooges? nyak nyak nyak… it leaves the mind thirsty for answers... in reality andrew scott, the man behind ny*ak, banged his computer keyboard in frustration one day – and out came ny*ak. if that’s taken the shine off it a little, we’re not worried. listen to any of andrews tracks and we guarantee you’ll be drawn straight back in, but this time – deeper. for the b side, underground house producer kool vibe also delivers a brilliant rendition of “gobblins are gone”. producer & owner of kv records (paris), record collector since 1993, and definitely part of the new deep house music scene that is emerging from france at the moment, laurent, aka kool vibe, was born in paris in 1970. kool vibe s music reflects the best of the 90s house music sound that he manages to love so much. in 2011 and 2012, his first releases have been cult tracks out on “my love is underground” and “traxx underground” imprints.
we were working on this record for 2 years and finally we are ready to show you this one. double record with 3 outstanding and original tracks from russian producer andrey zots and 2 remixes from famous for their works romanian friends dan andrei and nea marin. underground, intelligent.. as we like. amazing gatefold cover, 180g and vinyl only.
on soma ep warszaw based duo mech installs four tracks in the cryptic reduced style of thomas brinkmann’s max/ernst series. the guys deliver an audio work production on resopal that hovers among forms such as techno, minimalism, and ambient. on all four tracks the elements are limited but the output bounces and rattles within - moving and exploring into more experimental zones of minimalism like plastikman, brinkmann, or former mille plateaux. a damn solid four tracker whether you know the math or not.
mono junks dum records has been dictating trends in the world of minimalistic techno since the 1990s, and its 34th release is as special as any. this one comes from label boss kimmo rapatti aka mono junk vs mesak, who is better known as fellow finn, tatu metsätähti, aka one half of mr velcto fastener and someone who has released on dexter & steffis klakson. together the pair serve up three mixes of their jam and an additional track. title track deep in my mind is a paranoid techno cut with freaky vocal riffs repeating the title as gurgling synth lines and sleek drums rumble below. twitchy synths and high pressure perc add to the hypnotic effect, and overall its easy to see this one making for some perfectly weird dance floor moments. the mix by mono junk is completely the opposite: in his hands it is a beat-less, serene and beautifully styled electro cut that takes you deep into brain soothing space. the electro mind version is then a full on electro jam, with plenty of aqueous synths and fluid lines all squiggling along in classic detroit style. final track sysdrum is back to the raw, with angsty drum lines, crisp and slapping snares and oodles of reverb all making for a brain frying trip.
ever find yourself on a long escalator in a train station? an undistinguishable robot voice is coming from the intercom. you move effortlessly on this machine, yet you do not understand the sounds coming towards you. this is the essence of vestibule. followed by the ecstatic rhythms on rising, these two make a colorful a side in contrast to the black and grey of solpara’s previous releases. the b side features two remixes, one by the prolific lestasi delloro and the other by the newest member of the booma roster: belgium lights. lestasi delloro questions the four to the floor pattern of the original track and pops it upside down, like the negative of a photograph, giving it an unexptected bounce with marvelously swung hi hats. belgium lights takes a deeper approach to the remix and stretches it out to almost 9 minutes, pulling us down the escalator, at a faster pace and through a darker tunnel.
raam is back with a killer ep where he moves deeper into his gritty and heavy soundscape. raam 004 is solid release with influences from both detroit and chicago. alvar is a straight up chord driven banger, with classic 909 drum patterns. on the flip you will find unfold, which is a warm, spaced out chicago track, reminiscent of boo williams. brink has that magic disco flair, woofing basses and sparkling pads create a shimmering atmosphere. this track is perfect to play whenever
coming from geneva (switzerland) but napoletano by heart, pascal viscardi is a new face in the deep-house panorama. the 31 years old fellow started his career (as a producer) a few years ago with 2 twelve inches on *the exquisite pain*, including remixes from some heavy weights: mark e, session victim and agnes.
for his debut on frole records, pascal kicks in with a single track. *the warmest color* is the kind of cut you might play when the sun shows up and the bodies are ready for the slower and sexiest loops. in a totaly modern swiss vibe (did you say agnes...?) this double kicked tune offers you a straight, extra-shuffled, moodygritty and dubby moment. is this love at first sight?! yes, it is...
our new friend didnt come alone, chosing carefully his remixers to complete your wax in a most accurate way.
paulo olarte s genre twisting latin techno tracks immediately transport you to hot nights spent on sweaty dance floors. powerful beats draw you in while the seductive vocals make you quiver, culminating in an intense rush for all your senses. perfectly rounding out the ep, cómeme s sano delivers a delicious remix of the super stompy track paladar. give your mind a treat and listen to these tasty new tracks right away.
the ronda’s are various motorways that cross the condal city from it’s opposing corners, just as it’s bell way counterparts, this one’s take you into many different perspectives of the metropolitan area, locations where there’s a park full of green and sun every day, are also tunnels full of pollution, machines and constant darkness. drive carefully
and so, a little short of our third birthday here at selador, it feels like we ve finally made it. no longer pretenders to the throne, we are now like a proper, authentic, fully fledged record label as we reach the holy grail of our very first vinyl release. a momentous occasion for sure. you can speak to our people from now on
b12, one of the uks first wave of pure techno acts, are back again to take you above and beyond with their trademark deep space techno and electro soundscapes. after appearing on the *5 years de:tuned* album with the track *let me free*, b12 return to de:tuned with more transient music for the mind.
in demand repress for this great title ! ...great dont release featuring lots of acid and cover versions to boot! fresh re-rubs of blake baxters >sexuality< and joey beltrams >energy flash< dont recordings reaches the big 20th release and marks the occasion with a double headed ep that looks both backwards and forwards! neil landstrumm has always been a big influence on the sound of the label and here he steps up and delivers 2 monsters that while being completely his own, are also respectful cover versions of classic techno tracks that any techno head worth their salt will recognise. the originals are from 1988 and 1990 but these versions have been completely programmed from scratch using no samples. this is one for the connoisseurs! flip the 12 inch and what you get is two massive acid house party rippers from matt whitehead. matts been tearing up the london scene the last few years with his fresh take on the classic house and techno of the late 80s and when we at dont heard >to the beat< it was snapped up immediately! simply great, dramatic acid house music that is as catchy as it is timeless
limited available in a nice pack, mt026 / mt038 / mt039. feat. original tracks by dj 3000, dapayk solo, mr. o, t. linder and remixes by spiros kaloumenos, fer br.
eric ericksson is back with his fourth release on swedish brandy productions. a stunning hot deep four tracker. excellent quality productions in every aspect that differs a bit in style.
in the past eric has also released on labels such fragile, planet e communications, papa records, freerange and local talk. his full length album will be released this spring on swedish brandy productions.
san proper gushing on dg..small initial pressing on this one... be quick... tip! san: “lovers, friends, fam. and fans – love is in the air, get ready.” finally, the craze you’ve all been waiting for. this ep listens like one of dr. proper’s infamous radio show or deejay set. impossible to categorize, dropping house, electro, funk, and paying homage to disco. l.o.v.e. is a collaboration with ms. hollywood. an alliance that results in the whole breathing sexy and deep. whereas san proper stays in character for the rest of the ep. his use of the reverb adds shine and glory, and the drums are hit hard. in other words, music with an unprecedented character–just the way we like it.
all track are written and produced by alessandro sensini and carlo battistini
tracks description:
a1 - raining: calma opens up with a hypnotic rumbler! snaps and claps take us in, before the eery synths and floating pointesque keys punctuate and a squelqchy, distorted bassline rumbles beneath the surface, making you feel like you re at a party in a haunted church. a2 - cuattro: calma takes us on a tropical trip, with an infectious sun-filled groove looping over incessant layers of beat patterns that weave in and out of the track teasingly, driven along by a banging bass drum to keep you nodding. b1 - mr amarè: calma shows his love for acid house with an epic, ever-evolving influenced roller that blends together nearly every percussion instrument you could ever dream of. crashes, symbals and a cowbell drive it along, underscored by a seriously funky bass line and mysterious vocal sample that emerges halfway through tying it all together nicely. b2 - cuattro /juju & jordash rmx): juju and jordash take over the remix duties for calma. the dutch duo add their deep trademark sunshine inflected beats and sturdy basslines to the already tropical loop, while infusing swirling synths and strings that lead us in and out of the breakdowns and on to a late night, chilled-out dance floor.
thomas mullarney iii and jacob gossett are unstoppable. the new york artists, collectively known as beacon, have been on a productive hot streak since 2012, and their efforts continue to pay off. here they are with their 2nd album “escapements”, once again released via ghostly international. the vinyl release includes a download code.
yuyay records advances to physical goods: the six track ep -endomorphism- by sophus y. lie is the imprint s first vinyl record being released. shining light on a melancholic side of electro, the exceptional and uncommon sound design invites you to settle down and take your time listening. and yet, your endorphins will jump
dekmantel is thrilled to announce an exciting new project by the impeccable robert hood. over the course of three different eps and an album, the detroit legend presents paradygm shift. hood: ‘‘the idea behind paradygm shift is similar to a shift in our focus. we can become so complacent, we are so comfortable with our surroundings, i think this is the time for electronic music to find a new mindset.’’ the form lockers ep kicks of the series with great anticipation. two tracks that have ‘rob hood’ written all over it: minimalistic beasts, bursting from energy and meticulously crafted by the hand of a master producer. ‘form’ slowly but surely creeps upon you, a slow starter, but in the end the techno funk-finesse will roar like a detroit car engine. ‘lockers’ follows a slightly more melodic path, keeping the momentum by delivering body shaking, pulsating techno, deep and timeless just the way we like it. it’s a pleasure to present you these two slayers, and there’s more to come.
another journey to the deepest shades of house music with the fourth neroli ep from trinidadian deep. if you followed his previous successful outputs on neroli you know what to expect: organic, deep, spiritual beats and melodies.
ian blevins is the keeper of the jewel in the crown. this is his second offering for the esp institute. picking up right where we left off, side a unleashes another explosive big room belter with resume a driving rhythmic monster that takes advantage of the whips and cracks in ian’s drum machine arsenal, while warm chords lay a foundation for a quirky lead melody and rubbery pulse to dance upon. akin to hannibal, blevins esp institute debut in 2015, the arrangement here toys with us before revealing the true guts of the track—this time characterized halfway through by a punctuating gangster piano hook. on side b, poor old head utilizes ian’s signature drum styling we’ve come to adore, but here he establishes swells of melancholy via bending notes that meow and purr, beautifully ebbing and flowing though an array of incongruous dial tones and bells—shakey and barely out of sync, yet cradling a loosely drawn chord progression. these two songs will smack you up before they rub you down.
